About The Soul Behind Sol Surf
Hey, I’m Meags – founder of Sol Surf and long-time ocean lover. I started surfing consistently at 14 and never looked back. I’ve been a surf coach since I was 18, studied Surf Science in Bunbury and Margaret River, and went on to complete a Diploma in Sports Management and Marketing on the Gold Coast. I traveled a while and came home to complete my Diploma of High School Teaching. I’ve taught in schools, coached in the waves, and when starting Sol Surf found a way to blend my love of the ocean with my love for community.
In 2021, I launched Sol Surf with one goal: to create unforgettable surf experiences that empower, connect, and inspire. Whether you're catching your first wave or levelling up your skills, this space is about showing up, having fun, and doing it together.
In 2023, I decided to leave behind my full-time job as a Science Teacher and focus solely on my small business.
In 2023, I also became a mum! – a beautiful new chapter. With that came a shift: I built a small team of incredible coaches and hosts so Sol Surf could keep growing while I navigate the wild and wonderful world of motherhood. It’s community that keeps this dream alive – and I’m so grateful for it. Whether we’re paddling out for a surf retreat, experiencing a new place, or just soaking in the good vibes in each other’s company, I’m stoked to share this journey with you.
